Welcome

The National Productivity Centre, supported by the Grimsby Institute of Further & Higher Education, is delighted to announce that the European Productivity Conference will take place on 28 – 30th October 2009. We are proud to be hosting this prestigious event in Grimsby, North East Lincolnshire, United Kingdom and you can look forward to a warm welcome.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank our sponsors who include North East Lincolnshire Council, Carbon Action Yorkshire, Yorkshire Forward, Northern Foods PLC, The Humber Chemical Focus, The Humber Seafood Institute and The Sea Fish Industry Authority.

The conference programme is being compiled to specifically address the theme which is Enterprising Public and Private Sector Organisations: Learning from the Best. Being firmly set in the context of the current global and financial situation the conference presentations and discussions will focus on issues of public policy, together with lessons from the public and private sectors about how organisations can position and develop themselves for survival and growth.

As experts in their respective fields, the conference speakers are drawn from the public and private sectors from around the World, including experts from other EU Productivity Centres, UK Government and leaders of ‘blue chip’ organisations focused on productivity for competitive advantage. Professor Tor Dahl, an eminent economist, consultant, and associate professor in public health at the University of Minnesota, will be making the keynote address.

Alongside the conference, students of Grimsby Institutes’ MSc degree in Productivity and Innovation will showcase their practical business improvement projects to delegates, in a competition sponsored and judged by Northern Foods Plc.

Look forward to seeing you in October.
